The practice operates a Did Not Attend (DNA) Policy.
It is in place to prevent doctors' and nurses' time from being wasted. If appointments are not attended then this results in an increase in waiting times for other patients, a frustration for staff and is also a waste of resources.
Appointments at the practice are valuable. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please inform the practice immediately so that another patient can avail of the appointment time.
You can cancel an appointment by contacting the practice via:
The DNA policy is as follows:
- If three appointments are not attended within a year, a warning letter is sent to the patient.
- Following another not-attended appointment a final warning letter is sent. This letter asks for written acknowledgement of receipt of the letter to be received within 14 days of the date of the letter. Should no acknowledgement be received in this time, the patient's registration will be reviewed at the Practice meeting and may be removed from the Practice list.
- Should acknowledgement be received and a further appointment not attended within 12 months of the date of the letter, the patient's registration will be reviewed at the Practice meeting and may be removed from the Practice list.
