There are three ways to order a repeat prescription:
By online account
If you have created an online account you can order online using Patient Services.
This is the easiest way to re-order as your repeat prescription items will be listed there and you merely have to click on the ones which you require. You can access your account 24-hours a day. If for some reason an item which is usually on your prescription list is not listed then this may be because the item needs to be re-authorised by the doctor or the practice pharmacist. In which case simply free-text the name of the item in the blank field at the bottom of your account page in order to request it.
If you would like to set up an account please complete the online registration form (DOCX, 20KB) and email it to us at gp.z00086@gp.hscni.net.
By email
If you do not have an account then you can email your repeat prescription request to the practice at gp.z00086@gp.hscni.net. This you can do 24-hours a day. Please ensure that your name, your date of birth, your nominated pharmacy and the items your require are listed in the email.
By telephone
The Prescription Line 028 90 770 931 is open between 11.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Thursday. On Fridays it is open between 11.00am and 12.00pm and again between 2.30pm and 4.00pm. Outside of these hours there is an answer machine facility. If you leave a message please ensure that you clearly state your name, your date of birth, your nominated pharmacy and the items which you require.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your repeat prescription request to be processed by the surgery. Please check with your pharmacy as to their collection policy and order times.
Posting of Prescriptions
The Practice can post prescriptions to a patient's registered home address provided a stamped addressed envelope has been received. We are, however, unable to post to holiday homes or relatives' homes etc. If you are not in Belfast and need a prescription then you may be need to register temporarily with a practice in the area in which you are staying.
Private Prescriptions
Please be aware that if you attend private clinics and are prescribed medications it may not be possible to get these under NHS. If you are looking to undergo private treatment (inside or outside of UK) , it is important that you ensure that all pre and post treatment costs are included in the overall package of care procured from the private healthcare provider. In any such instances, you may not be entitled to related pre or post treatment support from primary or secondary care services in Northern Ireland. In line with normal practice, patients will continue to be able to access emergency care where necessary.
